Objets, styles et époques

Pour ce qui est des objets négociés comme antiquités, on s'intéresse surtout aux livres, aux montres-bracelets anciens, aux articles ménagers, aux peintures et aux meubles design vintage. Les pièces uniques de l'époque de l'art nouveau se tiennent bien dans le temps, même encore aujourd'hui, car elles sont en bois massif teinté et laqué. Ainsi, chaque époque a ses avantages, qui sont plus ou moins recherchés.

En général, on peut dire que toutes les antiquités et leur négoce ont une chose en commun : l'attrait de l'unique et de l'intemporel qui se manifeste dans les objets d'art anciens.

Détermination des pièces uniques antiques

Vous êtes-vous déjà demandé, à partir de quand on parle réellement d'antiquités ? En tout état de cause, les objets d'artisanat, d'art ou même les simples objets utilitaires sont toujours considérés comme des antiquités s'ils ont au moins 100 ans. Toutefois, certaines pièces spéciales ne doivent pas nécessairement être aussi anciennes, celles-ci atteignent leur statut antiquaire au bout de 50 ans seulement.

Il n'est souvent pas si facile de distinguer les véritables trésors antiques des faux. Dans tous les cas, vous devez consulter un expert ou faire des recherches approfondies au préalable. Si les antiquités en question sont des meubles, elles sont généralement attribuées à certaines époques, et vous pourrez trouver des indices sur l'origine, les détails décoratifs ou le bois utilisé. Il est recommandé d'acquérir soi-même une solide connaissance de base des différentes époques, de leurs caractéristiques et de leurs particularités stylistiques. De cette façon, vous pourrez éventuellement distinguer même les collections uniques faites à la main des collections produites en série. Il convient également de noter que le mobilier ancien n'est reconnu comme antiquaire que s'il n'a pas été rénové à plus de 30% dans le temps.

Les antiquités particulièrement populaires sont les meubles de l'époque baroque, le style Biedermeier ou l'époque des fondateurs. Aussi, l'art africain ou des pièces uniques d'origine française sont très recherchés par les marchands.
